Let’s pretend …

…  you take about 300g of butter and 250g of fine sugar…

.. and blend it all together until it becomes smooth and sexy.

And let’s pretend that you add a bit of vanilla extract (approx. 2 tea spoons) and 5 eggs, which you add one after the other and give the mixture a good whisk in between adding them.

Now, let’s pretend that you add 3 tea spoons of baking powder and 300g of flour, and mix it all up…

Until the dough looks like this:

And shall we now pretend that you add a table spoon of poppy seeds and the juice and zest of 1,5 oranges?

Yeah, let’s pretend you do.
Because if you pour this mixture in a baking dish (lined with butter) for 50-60 minutes at approx. 180°C …

… then you will get the most amazing, wonderful Orange-Poppy Seed Cake that will last for several days.

Unfortunately, it has gone out of print – but the recipes are great and maybe you can hunt it down! I really recommend it. 🙂 Have a wonderful start into the week, my friends.

    • It tastes lovely, too! 🙂 I’m visiting my grandparents next week on my granddad’s birthday to help unpacking everything … I am already thinking about what I should bring as a cake. It’s gotta be good for a couple of days … I’ll think of something. 🙂
